INPEX is looking for a Senior Environmental Advisor to join our Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) team in Darwin on a permanent, site-based basis.

 

In this critical role, you'll apply your environmental expertise to support our operational facilities and help us deliver on our commitment to responsible energy production.

 

You’ll be instrumental in maintaining compliance, leading environmental programs, and collaborating across teams to drive continuous improvement—while working on some of the most technically interesting assets in the region.

 

Key Areas of Responsibility:

 

  • Environmental Compliance & Systems: Implement and maintain systems and procedures aligned with environmental management plans and regulatory requirements.
  • Audit & Reporting: Coordinate internal and external audits, including regulator engagement. Prepare and submit high-quality technical reports (e.g. EPL228-05 annual return, flaring reports).
  • Contractor & Operational Support: Oversee environmental compliance of contractor activities, including during shutdowns.
  • Incident Response & Investigation: Lead investigations into environmental incidents or non-conformances.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Planning:  Engage with internal teams, regulators, and other key stakeholders. Contribute to the development and delivery of annual environmental goals and initiatives.

 

You’ll bring:

 

  • A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or a related discipline
  • A strong understanding of onshore environmental regulations and compliance frameworks
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in preparing and reviewing complex technical documentation
  • Experience working with contractors and resolving environmental or compliance issues
  • Confidence in engaging with regulators, including audits and reporting
  • A collaborative mindset, valuing empathy and cultural diversity
  • A current Australian driver’s licence and reliable transport to Bladin Point
