As a Senior Environmental Advisor within our HSE team in Perth, you'll play a key role in protecting the environmental performance of Ichthys Operations. In this permanent role, you'll coordinate environmental monitoring programs, support compliance obligations and provide technical expertise to help manage environmental risks across onshore and offshore operations. Occasional travel to operational facilities will be required.

About the role

Reporting to the Environment Team Lead Operations Monitoring and Compliance, you'll support environmental monitoring and compliance across Ichthys Operations. Working closely with operational teams, contractors and regulators, you'll help meet environmental commitments, manage risk and support sustainable operations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate environmental monitoring and compliance activities across Ichthys Operations.
• Support environmental performance through the identification and management of environmental risks and issues.
• Prepare environmental compliance reports and support regulatory obligations.
• Provide technical advice on environmental monitoring, compliance and environmental performance matters.
• Manage consultants, contractors and specialist service providers delivering environmental scopes.
• Monitor emerging environmental policy and regulatory developments relevant to operations.
• Collaborate with operational and cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in environmental performance.

You could be a great fit for this role if you have:

• Environmental experience within oil and gas, resources, infrastructure, consulting or other regulated operational environments.
• Knowledge of environmental monitoring, compliance and environmental risk management principles.
• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing marine and terrestrial environmental monitoring programs
• Strong budget and contractor management experience

• A strong understanding of Australian environmental regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements.

• Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and relationship-building skills.
• Sound analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• A collaborative, proactive and solutions-focused approach.

Helpful for success in this role

• Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Management or a related discipline.
• Experience engaging with regulators, consultants and contractors.
