We’re looking for an experienced Reliability Engineer to join our Maintenance & Reliability team in Perth. This is a permanent opportunity to play a key role in enhancing the performance and reliability of INPEX’s operational facilities.

 

In this role, you’ll lead and coordinate our Defect Elimination program, support Root Cause Analysis efforts, and develop Reliability Improvement Plans that drive meaningful outcomes. You’ll also help grow our Reliability Analytics capability and embed reliability practices across the business.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the INPEX Defect Elimination program to identify and resolve bad actors, ensuring consistent application across facilities.
  • Facilitate Root Cause Analysis (5 Whys, Cause-Tree) to support production and engineering teams in investigating equipment failures and operational events.
  • Develop and implement Reliability Improvement Plans aligned with business objectives.
  • Build and apply Reliability Analytics tools and workflows to identify bad actors, measure reliability, and establish an equipment failure data library.
  • Prepare and present periodic reliability reports to stakeholders.

 About You:

We’re seeking someone with a strong technical foundation and a collaborative mindset. You’ll bring:

  • A degree in Engineering (BSc/BEng), with postgraduate qualifications or certification in Reliability Engineering (e.g. CRE) preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in reliability engineering, with a strong background in the energy or oil and gas sectors.
  • Proficiency in reliability standards (ISO14224, ISO20815, ISO/TR12489), data analytics, and reliability KPIs.
  • Experience with reliability software (e.g. Isograph, OnePM, Optimise).
  • Practical knowledge of maintenance and reliability methodologies (RCM, FMECA, RBI, SIL, CBM).
  • Understanding of Process Safety, Asset Integrity Management, and Management of Change.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • A proactive attitude, with a track record of taking ownership of opportunities and driving them to completion.
