Join INPEX as a Lead Buyer in our Perth-based Contracts & Procurement team.


In this leadership role, you’ll guide a high-performing procurement team to deliver value across sourcing, purchasing, and supplier performance. You'll champion process improvements, ensure compliance, and build strong stakeholder and supplier relationships that support our strategic goals.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

As Lead Buyer, you’ll guide procurement operations, lead a team, and drive strategic sourcing and supplier performance to support INPEX’s energy goals:

  • Lead the procurement function, managing Buyers, Expeditors, and support staff to ensure integrity and efficiency.
  • Oversee end-to-end Source-to-Pay (S2P) and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes including supplier sourcing, negotiation, purchasing, expediting, and PO close-out.
  • Maintain continuity of supply to support production operations and minimise downtime.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders on commercial, legal, insurance, and logistics matters.
  • Monitor procurement KPIs and implement strategies for performance improvement.
  • Support strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting for supply chain activities.
  • Mentor team members and promote a customer service culture within the procurement function.
  • Participate in internal and external audits and ensure compliance with relevant agreements and procedures.

  • Navigate SAP (particularly the MM module) and Microsoft Office tools with ease.

  • Lead with a collaborative mindset and a hands-on approach to team leadership.
