We are seeking a Category Principal to join our INPEX Contracts team in Perth on a permanent basis. Join us in helping shape a brighter energy future.

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Develop effective relationships with internal business leaders to understand business requirements, to forecast demand, and verify established contracts are effective.
  • Collect requirements and analyse key data inputs from multiple sources (internal and external) to help build robust category and sourcing strategies.
  • Planning and execution of a portfolio of sourcing projects and strategic category initiatives enabling category strategy delivery.  Overseeing on-time delivery performance, minimising disruption to the business operations. 
  • Lead negotiations with Suppliers.
  • Demonstrating strong commercial and contractual acumen, prepares and reviews contract award recommendations & contracts for approval.
  • Execute Sourcing Strategy and Plan, leading negotiations as directed by the Category Sourcing Manager.
  • Mentor and oversee delivery of Category strategy of any direct or indirect reports (Category Specialists, Contracts Advisors and others)
  • Develop quality SOW/SOS in collaboration with Subject Matter Experts
  • Provide commercial advisory & supplier performance management

 

 

 

Successful candidates will have:

 

  • Demonstrated experience in delivering value via Category Management in the Parts, Consumables and Bulk Chemicals area; or strong demonstrated experience in Category Management, procurement, materials & inventory management and supply chain is required to be considered for this position.
  • Demonstrated competency in spend analytics to identify trends and patterns in spending behaviour and alert others when there are opportunities to deliver value
  • Extensive experience using contract management systems and ERP systems, preferably SAP ECC (SAP-MM) and SAP Ariba
  • Has a solid understanding of the overall Supply Chain processes demonstrating knowledge and experiences in areas such as materials management, source to pay, logistics and freight forwarding.
  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Excel (standard formulae e.g. x/vlookups, Pivot Table, PowerQuery etc), Word and PowerPoint
  • Is curious, and capable of performing analytics with large data sets to identify trends and patterns in spending behaviour, linking to opportunities in respective categories
  • Strong stakeholder engagement capability and demonstrated capability in management of change.
  • Operate with a sense of urgency and ownership to meet business deadlines.
  • Display a high level of energy and take great pride in the high standard and quality of work.
  • CIPS or equivalent qualification in Procurement and Supply Chain Management is preferred.
