We are seeking a Telecommunications Technician to join our INPEX Offshore team on the CPF Explorer on a maximum term, two (2) year contract. Join us in helping shape a brighter energy future.
Key responsibilities:
- Perform planned, corrective and integrity-critical maintenance on telecommunications and associated network systems.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and rectify faults across radio, satellite, network, CCTV, public address telecommunications infrastructure.
- Act as the offshore focal point for telecommunications faults, breakdowns and service requests.
- Maintain systems including VHF Marine, VHF Aeronautical, TETRA, VSAT, microwave radio, CCTV, public address and general alarm systems, electronic mustering, radar and local area network infrastructure.
- Support operational reliability through inspection, testing, maintenance and continuous improvement activities.
- Coordinate and supervise telecommunications contractors and specialist service providers working offshore.
- Support cyber security activities and manage approved third-party remote access to telecommunications systems.
- Build strong working relationships with offshore operations, maintenance personnel, engineers, planners and contractors to achieve safe and efficient outcomes.
Successful candidates will:
- Hold a Telecommunications Trade Qualification, or recognised equivalent.
- Hold a Certificate III in Engineering (Electrical/Electronics) or similar qualification.
- Hold a Restricted Electrical Licence appropriate to the work performed.
- Hold current competencies for Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas relevant to the role.
- Hold current offshore survival certification such as BOSIET (or equivalent) and a current Maritime Security Card (MSIC).
- Demonstrate strong fault-finding and troubleshooting capability across telecommunications, electronics and network systems.
- Have experience interpreting technical drawings, schematics, network diagrams and vendor documentation.
- Have knowledge of maintenance systems, permit-to-work processes and risk management practices.
- Be able to work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset and a commitment to safety excellence.
This role is for applicants residing in or willing to relocate to Australia and able to meet offshore travel requirements.
