We are seeking a Manager Category Sourcing to join our INPEX Contracts and Procurement team in Perth on a 12-month maximum term employee contract. Join us in helping shape a brighter energy future.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • The Category Contracts Manager is responsible for leading the end‑to‑end commercial and contractual management of INPEX spend categories. The role ensures contracts are strategically aligned to business objectives, maximise value for money, improve supplier performance, manage risk, create long-term sourcing strategies that take account of INPEX position in the market. 
  • The role is pivotal to support operational and capital project performance across the full contract lifecycle.
  • Accountable for up to US$1.5 billion of annual spend - setting and delivering INPEX’s category management, and leading the team developing category and sourcing strategies, as well as tendering and contract award for a high risk and complex portfolio. 
  • Leadership of 10 to 15 direct and indirect reports, Category Principals, Senior Category Specialists-to ensure secure supply, optimal commercial outcomes, and alignment with INPEX business objectives, values, and governance frameworks.
  • Responsible for long term category planning with oversight of high risk, high value sourcing/tendering activities through to post award contract management and claims.

 

Successful candidates will have:

 

  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Law, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Significant experience in contracts management and category management, ideally in oil and gas or mining organisations.
  • Strong commercial, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Professional procurement qualification (e.g. CIPS or equivalent) is commonly listed as desirable.
  • Strong experience to drive optimal utilisation of Contract Lifecycle Management Systems and ERP systems such as SAP and Ariba.
  • A depth of leadership experience in contracts and resources sector.
