INPEX is looking for a Metering & Analyser Engineer to join our team, bringing expertise, precision, and innovation to our operations. This role is crucial in ensuring the reliability and accuracy of our Analyser and Metering Systems during the Operate Phase, with a strong focus on safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
The Analyser & Metering Engineer is responsible for the reliability, accuracy, and integrity of all metering and analytical measurement instrumentation systems critical to LNG operations. This includes fiscal metering, gas chromatographs, analysers, flow metering systems, flare meters, and tank gauging systems. The role ensures compliance with regulatory standards and contractual obligations while optimizing measurement performance and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:
- Act as a subject matter expert, providing high-quality technical advice on Analyser and Metering systems.
- Maintain and enhance the Analyser and Metering Management Plan to ensure compliance with international standards, company guidelines, and regulatory requirements, while maintaining proper documentation and audit readiness for metering systems.
- Oversee technical changes, ensuring all modifications align with our Technical Change Management System.
- Develop and implement performance monitoring programs, including uncertainty calculations and data analysis to improve measurement accuracy and reliability.
- Ensure the accuracy, calibration, and integrity of fiscal metering systems, analysers, gas chromatographs, LNG sampling & composition analysis, flow meters, flare meters, and tank gauging systems to meet contractual, regulatory, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Be the technical focal for projects related to metering system upgrades, new installations, and technology enhancements.
- Maintain maintenance strategies, procedures, and spare part strategies for Analyser and Metering equipment.
- Contribute to maintenance planning across 120-day, 45-day, and 14-day planning cycles.
- Mentor and support young engineers and QMI Technicians, fostering skill development and knowledge-sharing.
What we’re looking for:

- A Trade Certificate, Engineering Degree, or equivalent hands-on experience. (We value skills and expertise—if you don’t have a degree but can demonstrate deep technical competency, we’d still love to hear from you.)
- Strong knowledge of Analyser and Custody Transfer Metering Standards and Codes of Practice highly desired.
- Experience with gas, condensate, wet gas, and multiphase metering (including selection, specification, calibration, verification, and auditing). If you’re not an expert in all areas, training and coaching will be provided.
- Knowledge and experience in various analytical chemistry techniques (Gas Chromatography, MassSpectrometry, Infrared & Ultraviolet Spectroscopy, TDL) Physical Property Analysers etc
- Familiarity with field and online analyser equipment from various vendors such as Emerson, Yokogawa, ABB highly desirable.
- Hands-on technical skills with the ability to evaluate and troubleshoot equipment.
- Experience with metering software, flow computers, and data validation tools.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements and environmental reporting.
- Ability to analyse complex measurement issues and implement effective solutions.
- Strong teamwork, collaboration, and communication skills.

- A valid Australian driver's license and the ability to commute to the Ichthys LNG Onshore Facility at Bladin Point.
